Meet the Comforter

Here goes the year 2017!

There will many things to ‘worry’ about in 2017 in every part of the world. New President in United States of America, Brexit and elections in Europe, health concerns all over the world, poverty in third world countries, wars, terrorism concerns, cyber-attacks, educational and personal challenges.

You can choose to make progress or sit back, worry and complain about many things you cannot possibly do anything about.nls-law-fair-25th-january

Taking things in bits might help. You can start from the things you can handle and then attempt to do the more challenging tasks. Why not try to step out of your comfort zone, it might pay off, you know?

Whatever you choose to do, the right information will help. Don’t neglect to seek help from experts and good sources. Seek help when you need one; for example, if you need help with mental health problems, bullying and domestic violence.

Forecasts and unstable world economy and politics will continue; get going and do the best you can for your community.

How is corruption defined?

I hope this message meets you well and uplift your soul and spirit. I hope it sets you up or encourage you to continue to engineer social change in your community, be it physical or spiritual.

Actually it is a question and you are going to help to set thing in order, that is, writing this piece better than anybody can and believing that generation of yours who read it now and in future will be proud of you.

I saw a definition of corruption online and it reads:

 “corruption:

1. dishonest or fraudulent conduct by those in power, typically involving bribery.

synonyms: dishonesty, dishonest dealings, unscrupulousness, deceit, deception, duplicity, double-dealing, fraud, fraudulence, misconduct, lawbreaking, crime, criminality, delinquency, wrongdoing, villainy; bribery, bribing, subornation, venality, graft, extortion, jobbery, profiteering; payola; informalcrookedness, shadiness, sleaze, palm-greasing; malfeasance, misfeasance; archaicknavery; raremalversation

2. the process by which a word or expression is changed from its original state to one regarded as erroneous or debased.

“a record of a word’s corruption”

synonyms: alteration, falsification, doctoring, manipulation, manipulating, fudging, adulteration, debasement, degradation, abuse, subversion, misrepresentation, misapplication; rarevitiation”

So who is corrupt?

I have heard people use the  word ‘corruption’, exclusively irrespective of what is the real picture around them.

I have an interesting Bible passage that I will encourage you to read; it is like a movie story; actually it was a horror.

Judges chapters 19 to chapter 21.

I found Judges 20:17-21, very disturbing when I read it many years ago until the Lord explained it to me.  The explanation is in  Judges 20:26-35.

In Judges 20:17-21. God told the Israelites to fight the Benjamits, but they lost, they were beaten mercilessly by the Benjamites. However, it was a different thing entirely in Num. 20:26-35, where the Benjamites were beaten almost to extinction.

You know what the Lord told me, sinners can’t judge sinners!  A further study of Judges 2:10- 21, will show you how the Isrealites lived. They liked like sinners because they were. Everyone did whatever they pleased irrespective of what the law says or who is hurt. They were lawless, corrupt, godless, unmerciful, you just name it.

We can make a difference in our societies. This is a tough call and daring but we can. Every little step counts.

How do we define corruption? Exclusively? Some of our countries are so rich in religion and can comfortably export it but it has not imparted their national live. It is just like where “everybody does what they like”. People are only called “sinners when they are discover; actually sin is sin when it is committed, not just when sinners are found out.

It is not about what my friends and I thinks about someone or a situation but about what is right. If the Bible is not your standard what is? How do you interpret the scriptures?

Let the Lord be Lord. God bless you.

Understanding Signs and Wonders

Scripture Reference: Jer. 33:2-3. Mark 16:15-18. Jer.32:17-22.

God does signs and wonders in us and through us. Signs and wonders are hallmark of the Christian faith; they are not an appendage to it and they should be our constant realities. From birth to death, Jesus’ life was about signs and wonders.

Isaiah 8:18, says, “Behold, I and the children whom the Lord hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.” (KJV)

Mark 16:17-18, says, “And these signs shall follow them that believe; in my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” (KJV)

The above scripture tells us what the Lord has for us with regard to signs and wonders. Believers should walk in signs and wonders as a mark of faith – (it is like a birth right.)

What are signs and wonders?

Signs and wonders are supernatural intervention in the lives of people; nations and in creation. They happen when God turns around the situation of things to suit has purpose. For example, God changed the course of time when Joshua asked for it during a battle he fought with the Amalekites.

Joshua 10:12, says, “Then Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel: “Sun, stand still over Gibeon; And Moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.”

The virgin birth and resurrection of Jesus were signs and wonders.

.Isaiah 7:10-14 says, “Moreover the Lord spoke again to Ahaz, saying, “Ask a sign for yourself from the Lord your God; ask it either in the depth or in the height above.” But Ahaz said, “I will not ask, nor will I test the Lord!” Then he said, “Hear now, O house of David! Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will you weary my God also?  Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.”

The healing and deliverance done by Jesus were signs and wonders.

Acts 10:34-41, says, “Then Peter opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him. The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ—He is Lord of all— that word you know, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, and began from Galilee after the baptism which John preached: how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. And we are witnesses of all things which He did both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem, whom they killed by hanging on a tree. Him God raised up on the third day, and showed Him openly, not to all the people, but to witnesses chosen before by God, even to us who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the dead”

Exodus 4:28-31; Exodus Chapter 7 – Chapter 14 shows the Signs and Wonders performed in Egypt during the time of Moses.

The Gospels contain Jesus’ miracles. For example,

John 11:1-40 – Jesus raised Lazarus

Acts 3:1-9, states the healing of Lamed man at the gate called beautiful

Why did Jesus delay going to heal Lazarus?

He wanted to show us something – signs and wonders. God grows his kingdom using signs and wonders.

How to flow in signs and wonders

Some scriptures to read: Mark 16:17; Isaiah 42:10-20; Isaiah 55:8-11; john 11:39-47; Mk. 2:3-12.

All believers can partake in signs and wonders. It is a privilege of the new life. However, it is not everyone that does; that is because many believers don’t understand the place of signs and wonders in the Kingdom. It is the supernatural, the signs and wonders that show forth the glory of God. They sign-post people to God. Christianity is all about signs and wonders.

To flow in signs and wonders the following are important:

You must connect with the Source of all creation; the one that has all the power and dominion. That is God. He is in-charge of everything in heaven and on earth. Psalm 24:1-2.

You need to know God better – Prayerful study of the word and fellowship with God is essential.

You must understand the process: (do your part and let God do his part). Many people are more concerned about themselves that they undermine God. Signs and wonders belong to God and he is never afraid of anything or anyone. Dan.4:34-35.

The right environment: Heb.11:6.You must come believing; you must come with praise and worship; John11:41-42. You must be prayerful and obedient to God. It not our agenda – it is all about God.

You must come with expectations. It will be to you according to your faith.

You must give all the glory to God.

When signs and wonders happen, you must turn the attention to God. Acts 3:11-16. This is very crucial and must never be compromised.

You must use them to witness to people about salvation of their souls.

You must focus on God not on your experience or that of other people. It is all about what God wants to do now.

God bless you.

How to Express Your Faith After You’ve Prayed

Most times believers get caught-up in a cross-fire between faith and pressures after praying for something that bothers them. Fear, anxiety, stress among others come upon people as they try to believe that God will come through for them. I am going to point out somethings that we can do while waiting for the physical arrival of what we have asked God for.

Luke 1:38 “And Mary said, behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her” (KJV) It is important to find out from the scriptures what God is saying about the situation. God can impress upon your mind certain scriptures; the Holy Spirit can speak to your spirit; there might be a word from someone talking to you, sometimes without know what you are going through, which speaks positively about God helping you; it could come from a book or a message. When this happens, accept the message like Mary did when the angel spoke to her. Mary, you must have realized, heard one of the most difficult messages you can ever imagine on the face of the earth then and even now. However, she exercised her faith by accepting the message.

There is need for a change of disposition and action. 1 Sam. 1:18 “And she said, Let thy handmaid find grace in thy sight. So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad” (KJV). Hannah believed the man of God. She left the place of prayer with a changed disposition. She had her meal and brightened up. It is important to know that she had not at this time slept with her husband, so there was no pregnancy yet. You can do the same. Stop crying, don’t be anxious and don’t panic. Trust God.

Thanksgiving: Learn to thank God for the answers to your prayers. Prayer works. Continue in thanksgiving no matter the pressures. God will not let you down. I hope to share some personal testimony with you on how God answered my prayers. That will be in a future article.

Stay blessed.

How to Win In Spiritual Warfare

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh”  2 Cor.10:3.(KJV).I know that some Christians don’t believe that there is spiritual warfare; I don’t really understand why they think so and the argument they put forward in inconsistent with the word of God when viewed in a holistic perspective. The book of Revelation states ” And there was war in heaven; Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not, neither was their place found any more in heaven.”Rev.11:7-8. (KJV). You can read more in Ephesians 6:12-18. We shall look at this in future.

There is spiritual warfare, it is not a new trend and it will continue until the Lord returns. Prepare yourself to win at all times. There are some important things I want you to understand as we confront the forces of darkness in our lives’ journey. They are as follows:

1. No person is exempted in the battle. The fact that you are engaged in spiritual warfare does not mean you are a sinner or that one is stupid. All men are involved and the spirit beings too.

2. It can be in any area of life; family, work, academics, church,  etc.

3. It is not just physical: It is masterminded in the spiritual realm and carried out in the physical realm, in various  ways.

4. The devil’s motive it to undermine God, deceive people and take them away from God to eternal destruction.

5. We don’t engage in this warfare physically. It is not by fighting with hands,  eyes, lips, shouting, talking, malice, guns, knives, etc.

6. You are not in it alone. God is on your side.

7. Jesus has won the battle; our part is to contend by faith to possess our possessions.

8. Knowledge is very important in this battle. The devil takes advantage of people’s ignorance in this battle. If you don’t know your right you lose it. Don’t forget the devil is a thief. The word of God is very important so learn to study it to know your right.

9. The devil does not play according to the rules. He knows he lost the battle to Jesus but he doesn’t want to stop troubling people.

10. Prayer is the weapon to win. You must be prayerful. The devil is not a gentleman or lady. He is a hard fighter who does not respect the rules.

11. You must sustain your faith. Be rugged in faith. When the devil resists, insist.

12. Your mind is very important. You must set your mind on the Lord and be very positive. I want to recommend to you a book by Joyce Meyer (The Battlefield of the mind).  Visit http://www.klarazstorez.com and get the audio version of the book, it will help you. My ebook “God Gives Songs in The Night”

Spiritual warfare is real, don’t sit on the fence and don’t be a victim.

How to Exercise Your Faith

“And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God” Luke 4:4 (KJV)

When should one believe that his prayers have received answers from God?  The word of God says, ” Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, When ye pray, believe that ye received them and ye shall have them.” Mark 11:24 (KJV). When we have prayed to God about our needs, we are to accept that God has granted the request. The physical manifestation comes after.

This is what Heb.11:1 says that faith is. That scripture says: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (KJV). This truth should settle in our hearts. Yes! there will be pressures, anxieties, symptons, threats, phone calls, etc. In Luke 4:4, Jesus says “man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.” It implies that we must continue to depend on every word of God no matter what physical evidences suggest or portrays.

Great faith leaders like Daniel experienced it. His delieverance did not come until he got to the den of lions. God had plans to destroy Daniel’s enemies in their own craftiness and so allowed the process.

Have you prayed? believe that you have received what you asked God to give you and You must keep believing. God will not fail. He told me in my prayer time “I am the God of all flesh, is anything too hard for me?” Jer.32:27.

“God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent; hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” Num.23:19(KJV)

The Power at Work in Us.

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to the power at work within us” Eph.3:20. NIV.

The power of God works within us. It is not something that works from outside to inside. Every believer is equipped with the power of God and that power comes from the Holy Spirit. The popular teaching is the “hero” figure concept. I will describe the “Hero” concept as a situation where a few individuals have “the great power” of God and others have to depend on them for everything. That is not the exact thing God planned for the believers. The gifts are diverse and distributed to several people and we are compliment each other. The “hero” concept creates weakness. I have no intention to judge anything or anybody, I only want to encourage you to understand and live out the life God planned for you.

What is the nature of the Spirit in us? 2 Tim.1:7 states ” For God has not given us the Spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (KJV.) The Holy Spirit when he comes upon any person manifests the power dimension of God’s life. He manifest the love life of Jesus Christ and gives us the ability to exercise our minds in a healthy and profitable way.

This may unsettle some people but it is right for you to know it. When you have the Holy Spirit in you, you don’t really need to struggle to make yourself “anything.” He works out the purpose of God in you as you submit your will to him. Just like a chicken cannot give birth to a goat, no matter how much you feed, it so also an unbeliever or a canal person cannot live the Spirit’s life no matter what anybody says or does; those who try get frustrated and then start to teach that the work of the Spirit is not for this age.

God has not give us the Spirit of fear. Don’t live in fear, no matter the challenge. Be strong and courageous. The Power in us is the power that overcomes all obstacles and established the authority of God in any place.

Shalom

Brother Felix
